Fargo Marathon/Swanson Health & Fitness Expo

Swanson Health Products returned to the Fargo Marathon as the headline sponsor of the health expo for the fourth consecutive year. The 2011 Swanson Health & Fitness Expo featured over 75 national and regional vendors and had approximately 30,000 expo attendees!

The Fargo Marathon donates proceeds from the event to local non-profit organizations such as Sanford  Children's Hospital, The Children's Museum at Yunker Farm, YMCA of Cass Clay, Essentia (formerly Innovis) NICU, Andrew Nelson Track Fund, Shriner's Hospital, The Upward Bound Program and The National Brain Aneurysm Center.

Vitamin Angels

Swanson Health Products (SHP) has an ongoing partnership with the Vitamin Angels (VA) organization. Together, we have a common goal of bringing wellness to the world. SHP helps to support VA by offering daily opportunities for customers to donate to Vitamin Angels when making purchases, as well as other campaigns such as World Health Day. On April 7th—World Health Day 2011—Swanson Health Products donated five percent of that day's sales to support Vitamin Angels and their relief efforts to eliminate childhood undernutrition worldwide.

Walk MS 2011 - North Central States Chapter

Swanson Health Products was a Silver Sponsor of the 2011 Walk MS event in Fargo, ND. Walk MS raises critical funds that support cutting edge research, drive change through advocacy, facilitate professional education and provide programs and services to help people with MS move their lives forward. On April 16, 2011, walkers gathered to show their support to those with MS by helping to raise over $108,000!

American Red Cross

As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguishes itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services, always with the aim of preventing and relieving suffering. The Red Cross is not a government agency; it relies on donations of time, money, and blood to do its work. In efforts to support the American Red Cross, during the week of May 27, 2011, through June 3, 2011, Swanson Health Products matched donations to the Red Cross dollar-for-dollar to help with Disaster Relief Efforts across the United States.

Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF)

Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF) is dedicated to improving health and healthcare access in communities of North Dakota and Minnesota. Since its inception in 1995, the Foundation has invested nearly $42 million in grants to 374 nonprofit organizations to measurably improve the health of people in our region.

Swanson Health Products not only donates to the Dakota Medical Foundation, but to other organizations that receive matching funds from DMF.

Hospice of the Red River Valley

Hospice of the Red River Valley is a not-for-profit organization that has been serving patients since 1981. They alleviate pain and suffering for patients with limited life expectancy and their families by addressing their medical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Our support of Hospice makes it possible for nurses and social workers to provide care in rural and urban areas of North Dakota and Minnesota. It helps grief specialists facilitate support groups for men, women, teens and children. It aids skilled staff to provide resources and training to school administrators, teachers, parents and children about grief issues. Our support also helps chaplains and social workers offer grief-related counseling to patients and families.

Dental Access

Red River Valley Dental Access Project was formed in 1997 to serve low-income or elderly people without dental insurance in the Red River Valley. Our support goes towards supplies needed to run the organization. Over the past 5 years RRVDAP has served over 3,000 patients and donated approximately $497,000 in dental care.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is a worldwide organization committed to serving people, changing one life at a time. They work every day to make life better for countless people in the community. Our support helps them serve nutritious meals, shelter homeless families, help men overcome addictions, provide after-school tutoring and recreation, and send inner-city children to summer camp.

United Way of Cass Clay

In 1927, the United Way of Cass Clay started working to create positive changes in the community and the lives of people by developing strategies and raising funds. Swanson Health Products’ support of the United Way helps improve access to health care, promote self-sufficiency, strengthen families, and guide children and youth to succeed.

Great Plains Food Bank

For 25 years, the Great Plains Food Bank has been serving food to people of all ages and walks of life. During the busiest season of the year, they plan to reach 38,000 hungry people in the community by providing over 1.5 million pounds of food.

Swanson Health Products’ support goes toward feeding those in need during the holiday season.

Roger Maris Cancer Center

The Roger Maris Cancer Center opened in 1990 as the region’s most comprehensive facility dedicated to cancer care.

Our support helps to ensure that the Cancer Center’s education, prevention, research and clinical work will continue and expand.

Daffodil Days

For more than 30 years, Daffodil Days has enabled people to join the fight against cancer with the American Cancer Society by raising funds to support groundbreaking cancer research, providing up-to-date cancer information and education, advocating for public health policies that benefit the community and providing services that improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

Every year, our employees buy daffodils by the truckload to help support the American Cancer Society!

The Giving Tree

Since 1974, The Holiday Clearing Bureau has collected and distributed Christmas gifts for disadvantaged individuals in our community.

Swanson Health Products’ employees help thousands of children and hundreds of adults celebrate Christmas every year.

United Blood Services

Since 1943, United Blood Services has offered a place where individuals can donate blood to help with the need that arises from surgeries, cancer treatments and organ transplants.

Throughout the year, the employees of Swanson Health Products generously donate blood for United Blood Services.
