Noticed a positive result I am currently training to compete in a competition and focusing on building muscle. I have noticed muscle growth and better definition. I can't say for SURE that it's due to this supplement, however it really seems like I've had major changes since taking it (in conjunction with other supps, which I've reviewed on this site as well.) I will say that I am a female, and when I started taking it I noticed a little "shorter fuse" and it seemed like my acne increased slightly, but it seemed to decrease after taking for awhile. Not sure just yet Been taking this in 2 daily doses for about 2 months now yet really not seeing any positive effects. Will give it a few more months and then decide whether to continue. April 6, 2012

No Napping Necessary! A year ago my doctor advised me to begin taking a DHEA supplement. I've tried a few and have had the best response to this Swanson Premium brand and dose. I take one in the AM...it has helped me snap out of feeling grogginess during the day, without affecting sleep at night or having any negative side effects. pretty good stuff I've taken a variety of supplements over my lifetime - vitamins, protein powders, various amino acids, Chinese herbals, etc. but I've never really been able to tell if any of them actually made a difference in how I performed or felt. Well, I was surprised to feel an increase in energy after 3 weeks of using this DHEA product. It works. DHEA Effectiveness I did not rate effectiveness at a five leaves because it is difficult to determine true effectiveness of this product. At least, for me. DHEA? I buy from Swanson a lot and love how quickly orders are processed and shipments arrive. I also go through and try different supplements at different times to see if I notice any results. A LOT of Swanson products I almost feel I NEED to carry on!! :) The DHEA supplement though? Not so much...I haven't noticed any results or any difference in any of the claims that DHEA is supposed to help with. I'm glad the Swanson products sell for a low price, because this product didn't do anything for me. December 18, 2009

At the dosage of 25 mg, I find that it is much too potent for me and gives produces insomnia and itching of the scalp and legs. To solve these problems, I would open each capsule and use a little of the contents at a time (one capsule equals 4 applications!) and the problems of insomnia and itching apparently disappear. I have no problems with 7-Keto DHEA even at 25 mg (from a different vendor). Dr Ray Sahelian recommends a daily dosage of 5 mg for DHEA. Each person has a different tolerance range and should test it out rather than make a general statement. November 17, 2009
