birchwood to the rescue
nice to see a quality xylitol product that is not extracted from corn. swanson is one of the few places where you can get a birchwood derived product. use this to brush my teeth and occasionally toss a little bit into a drink. great product with noticeable results

birch xylitol
I love this xylitol because it is birch. I don't trust corn xylitol and refuse to eat GMO's. Most corn now genetically modified. Since I gave up sugars 4 years ago I really appreciate birch xylitol. I am however very disappointed in the recent price increases and have found another brand of birch xylitol to buy in bulk. I'd like to see Swanson offer their xylitol in a 5lb size at a reduced per lb. price. Until the price drops I will continue to purchase elsewhere. Great product tho.

Sticking with this one
Was looking for a sugar substitute for the occasional sweet treat. Worked well in raw puddings, pie fillings and ice cream. No one in my family could tell I had switched out the sugar. Have not tried baking with it yet. It is on the coarse side, so but sure to give it time to dissolve. Also like using stevia extract powder. It is probably a little more cost effective.

tastes just like sugar
I have used this in baking breads and cookies and can't taste a difference between this xylitol and sugar. It is a bit grainy, so I whirled it in my blender to make it finer. I even turned some into powdered "sugar". It is more expensive than other xylitol because it is from birch, not corn, but is worth it.

With the fact that over 70% of US corn crop is now GMO I was looking for a Xylitol supplement that did not use corn as their source. This product uses Birch Tree bark and taste the same as that which comes from corn. I am a happy camper.

tastes great
Xylitol tastes just like sugar and I enjoy using it. I've heard it's good for the teeth and bones so I take a spoonful every night. I am very pleased that Swanson Vitamins offers the type made from Birch.

Tastes great.
This is a good alternative to the harmful sweeteners out there. Didn't dissolve that well in water for me, or juice for that matter. Maybe the more acidic juices might break it down faster, but Ive yet to try. Don't think this would replace stevia since it's(stevia) touted to be much stronger and requiring much less, but it would probably be a good idea to swap between the two for certain occasions.

Idea for the crystals
I just wanted to let people know that are complaining about the size of the crystals, you can buy a coffee grinder and make the crystals into a powder. I think this would resolve a lot of the problems people have with the crystals dissolving..

Easy to use
A great alternative sweetener.

sourced from birch!
this stuff is sourced from birch, not corn like most other affordable xylitol, which is good news if you are sensitive to corn
tastes great, works great, no complaints. great value

Xylitol Powder?
This is fine, but it's xylitol granules, just like other brands. The name is misleading, I was hoping for actual powder.

Sweet tooth
I used this product with cereal, tea, and coffee. Love the taste in general, and the slight crunchiness in cereal.
Dissolves more fully in the hot liquids.
Would definitely purchase again.

Best Xylitol out there!
I have tried other brands of Xylitol and the Swanson 100% pure Xylitol Powder (derived from Birchwood from the U.S.A.), to me is the best! I have recommended Swanson's Xylitol Powder to my friends and a few have purchased some from Swanson Vitamins.
Try this product and see for yourself that the taste, texture and how it works as good (if not better then sugar), is the right Xylitol for you!

Excellent Pure Birch Xylitol
Love Swanson's Xylitol! We prefer birch xylitol for a host of reasons and use it for all our sweetening needs. The crystal size is a bit larger than other brands, but I found Swanson's to dissolve more easily even so. Even when baking, we have found the taste to be superior and to leave no aftertaste. With recent price increases and Swanson's great sales, they have the best deal around and provide a high quality product.

best Xylitol!
Other brands of Xylitol that I have tried didn't taste as good even though they were called "pure". On reading the label they had silica to keep them from clumping. Big taste difference. Swanson packets also have silica & don't taste as good as that in their jar that is only Xylitol.

A 'must have' in the sugar-free kitchen!
This is the best tasting sugar substitute ever! It is pricy, so what I do is in baking I use it to offset the aftertaste of stevia. It tastes great in coffee (unlike stevia) and in just about anything! I love stevia, but adding this to it makes it even better! (and stevia - of which you only need a little for a lot of sweetness - stretches it out longer).

KEEP XYLITOL AWAY FROM DOGS
As a previous reviewer noted, xylitol is poisonous to dogs -- perhaps to cats, too. I would be careful around any animals. It's just one of those things we peeps can use safely that we have to keep the critts away from -- chocolate from dogs, aspirin from cats, antifreeze from any critter! And now xylitol. 2 pieces of gum or candy containing xylitol will throw a 13 pound dog into severe hypoglycemia, 10 pieces will cause liver failure.
With that said, I (with no pets in the household) find this an excellent sugar substitute. Tastes very comparable to me, although I don't have a sweet tooth and only keep it around for visitors' coffee, etc.
Have never noticed the dancing grains but I'm going to make some popcorn, sit down, and hope I'll see the show!

Made from Birch
This Swanson product is made from birch and not corn. That is why I buy it here. I will not use the stuff made from corn and the birch kind is very hard to find and much more expensive than Swansons.

Best non-sugar sweetner
I have used Xyitol for many years. It's taste is far superior to any other sugar substitutes I have tried.
Make sure it is a product of the USA.

100% Pure Xylitol

Not as good as it used to be
This powder used to be much finer and as a result would disolve fast. Lately, I have noticed the crystals are larger and it takes longer for them to disolve. Too bad, because this is still the best deal on the market for birch-sourced xylitol.

Fabulous
I love this Xylitol! Made from Birch, in the US, which is a rare find. Texture and taste can't be beat. I use it everyday! (wish I knew just how sweet it would be in baking - had to throw out a cake & frosting - sweetness tripled with same amt for sugar)
Price is Half of other outlets. Swanson's best product, I think!

Great flavor - great price
I just ordered this for the first time, I really like the product, its as close to sugar as you can get without being actual sugar. I am not eating sugar and feel that the Xylitol has the texture and flavor if it sprinkled on foods or in cooking/baking. The only thing I don't like is the box it comes in, when I use the Xylitol and set the tub down the crystals will jump out of the jar like crazy. I thought I just imagined that but no, its really happening, wonder if its a static thing? Mmmh, well, either way, the product itself is wonderful and I will order it again for sure.
