Good Quality After reviewing a lot of products, the J. Crow Company Lugol's Iodine seems to be a good product. I put 2 drops in water and it's not the best tasting, but it's certainly doable. I'm sure juice would mask the flavor completely. I don't feel any different but will probably continue taking it because I don't get enough iodine in my diet. I chose the liquid over a capsule because I think a liquid would be better absorbed by the body than a capsule. March 18, 2012

Wow!!!!! I wish I could tell you what this has done for me, but I can't. Suffice to say that my energy levels and sleep is vastly better. I've used supplements for years, eat well, etc., but this product has done more for me than anything I have ever used, bar none. I am so impressed. I put 4 horizontal drops in my coffee in my coffee and can't taste it at all. Even my joints feel better. I'd give up everything before I'd give this up. November 10, 2011

Lugol's Iodine I liked the product and felt more energy when using it. However I found that the iodine solution became much lighter in color after a few weeks becoming almost like a weak tea in appearance. The last time I ordered Lugol's it had become very light in color before I even broke the seal. I suspect this seriously effected the potency and in fact I found that it was much less effective in this state. I prefer the Iosol formula. I may try the full strength Lugol's sometime, but it's expensive and you can now only buy an ounce at a time. I wouldn't recommend this product unless you can buy it fresh and use it up fast. Don't try to stock up. October 23, 2011

Orfice Reducer vs. Rubber Top Dropper We have found that the orfice reducer top is quite adequate for dispensing single drops. Over time rubber dropper tops may dry out. Should that happen, the manufacturer will replace with your choice either an orfice reducer top (which will not dry out) or another rubber top, at no charge. May 20, 2011

Built-in Dropper Problematic The bottle I received did not have the nice, old-fashioned, rubber dropper shown in the photo, which one squeezes to gets the drops out. Mine came with a built-in plastic device in the neck of the bottle that is very difficult to use. It varies from not letting any drops out at all, to shooting a whole bunch of drops out in very rapid succession. I have wasted a lot of product as a result. I might recommend this product if I knew I was going to get the right type of dropper. May 18, 2011

Men's health I've read that 96% of Americans are deficient in this mineral. I have been taking Lugol's for 1 year and have had amazing results. I took 20 drops a day for 6 months to bring the levels of iodine and potassium iodide in my body to normal levels. Saw Palmetto, Pygeum and zinc cannot compare to the results I got with this. I was amazed at the results and the improvement in my health. Part of my daily regimen Many people know that Iodine is one of the main nutrients used by the thyroid. Many people don't know that iodine is necessary for almost every other organ of the body, including the brain, breasts, skin, and male and female organs. Do the research. It's nearly impossible to get enough iodine through food, unless you eat miso soup every day as the Japanese do. This is a quality iodine source, and very convenient and economical. I despise the taste in water so I take it in milk, tea, or coffee and I can't taste it at all. July 9, 2010

This is a 2 % solution In reviewing dosing requirements I found that it TAKES 4 DROPS of this 2% solution to get the desired 12.5 dose. I was incorrectly just using just 2 drops as is required with full strength 4 % Lugol's. Remember this is 2% half strength Lugol's Iodine solution. I also found out that 4 drops now is a little harder to take than 2 drops, in plain water. December 22, 2009

Must Have Product This is a must have product because some experts say that the RDA is way too low. I am so happy that Swanson carries this product because I can order it with my other supplements and save on shipping. I will take iodine forever because of the many health benefits. I'm Hooked! I have to be honest here, because I was really leary of using this, but decided to try it anyway. It took a couple of days, but my afternoon slump time is gone and I feel terrific! I started with 2 drops in my morning coffee and now am taking 3 drops and it is does not effect the taste at all. I wish I ahd of started taking this sooner! Thyroid Boost Every morning before breakfast, I mix several drops of Lugol's iodine into my juice. It has helped to boost my low body temperature and is well worth the extra time it takes to use it every morning. Also, liquid is more easily absorbed than the more expensive Iodoral tablet. Great Value My wife and I began using this product after reading Dr. David Brownstein's book "Iodine: Why you need it Why you can't live without it" and have been very happy with the results. We put our daily dose in a small glass of juice to avoid the flavor. Note that this 2% solution contains 2.5mg iodine per drop when the dropper is held vertically. This is contrary to the amount stated in an earlier review of this product. August 28, 2009
